Open E-Board Staff Shadow Positions Include:
- E-Staff is accepting inquiries about shadowing our current members to learn their positions for the upcoming year !!
Station Manager
This position oversees the E-Staff and general staff, making sure that things are running smoothly and taking on any work necessary to complete tasks in a variety of positions.
101.1 the Beat Programming Director
Mountain 91.5 Programming Director
There are two programming directors, one for each station. Your main job is training DJs how to be on-air and use our social media platforms. You’re also in charge of specialty shows and should work with the music directors to ensure that the format of the station is being adhered to.
101.1 the Beat Music Director (CURRENTLY OPEN)
Mountain 91.5 Music Director
There are also two music directors, and each is in charge of choosing and uploading new music for the stations every week. We normally ask them to upload about five new songs every week. It’s their job to make sure the station has fresh and formatted music playing around the clock.
Production Director
The Production Director is in charge of making all of the sweepers, promos, underwriting, show intros, specialty programming, voice tracking, and writing.
Event Promotions Director and Web Manager
This person is in charge of all WMHW events. While events are generally come up with by the whole staff, the Event Promotions Director is the person who handles executing the events and getting them off the ground.
Business Grants Director (CURRENTLY OPEN)
This is the person who goes out into the community and sells underwriting for the station so we can make money (yay money!).
Underwriting is our form of advertising and while it is similar to a commercial, it’s important to know the difference. Underwriting is purely informational and not flashy like a commercial would be. It cannot mention prices, discounts, or the word free. It also cannot say any calls to action (come on down!) or subjective statements (____ is the best in town!).
Sports Director
In charge of all of our sports broadcasts and also producing Sports Minutes updates. The sports director will travel with teams and be
gone at games most of the time, and they tend to operate pretty independently.
News Director
News Directors generally put together News Minutes and a News Show for their staff to get involved in and to keep the public updated. If
they have staff members bring in stories, they need to be proofread by the ND before going on-air.
Traffic Director (CURRENTLY OPEN)
This job may be the most “behind the scenes” job at the station, but don’t be fooled, it’s easily one of the most important. This isn’t
traffic like cars, this means adding all of the sweepers, legal IDs, promos, etc. to the daily playlists. This ensures that things are playing when they need to play, we aren’t losing money, and essentially the station goes on the air every day. It’s also a great idea for you to learn how to do traffic as well, as it’ll help you out if you’re in a pinch and can’t get a hold of the traffic director.
Social Media Director
This position coordinates heavily with other E-staff members, promoting events, highlighting news, sports, and music, and maintaining a steady output of content on social media including Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, and the Website.
